Resources & Tools  |  Tech Industry in Hawaii

Stay up-to-date with Hawaii's ever-growing technology industry.

The Tech Industry in HawaiÔi has remained stableÑexperiencing steady, gradual growth over the last ten years. In trying to keep pace with its mainland counterparts, much of HawaiÔiÕs tech industry expansion has been the result of start-up companies within the islands, companies relocating to HawaiÔi, and military contracts that service the branches of armed forces based in HawaiÔi.

For the last couple of years, the positions in high demand in our state have been in the areas of Project Management, Business Analysts, Database Administrators, and Application Developers.

There continues to be a demand for talented and skilled workers in HawaiÔi as the information industry continually grows with advances in technology, software and equipment. As a result, the state realizes the need to support this expansion as it searches for ways to develop and improve programs that will assist the transition for companies into new and innovative markets.

One area that consistently creates opportunities for information technology is governmentÑnamely the federal government. Highly populated with the military, HawaiÔi presents employment possibilities through government contracts either by means of outsourcing with a private company or getting hired directly with the government.
